I didn't make any excuse for this teacher, she had no business laying her hands on this child. I just stated the facts, kids acting like crazy animals on the floor CLEARLY need need MORE than a NORMAL school and teacher can handle. If he was a special needs, was THIS A SPECIAL NEEDS SCHOOL? What there is no EXCUSE for Witkokaga, is MAKING EXCUSES for parents who ARE NOT TEACHING THEIR KID HOW TO ACT APPROPRIATELY AT SCHOOL. If he was a special needs, he should be in a special needs school.

I'm sorry other commenters but you disgust me. First there is never an excuse for doing that to a child. Second, you guys should go check out the schools we page and their focus. They completely missed the mark in this situation. Finally, just a glance looks to me that the child may be special needs, which means that no, he wouldn't function like most children and teachers and administrators trained to handle that. Yes I get they have bad days too, but that was horrible.

I guess it's a lot easier to ruin a teachers career/life of trying to TEACH PEOPLES BRATS, than it is easier to make PARENTS teach their kids how to sit down, shut up, and listen to the teacher.

Doubt it RiverRat. If I was a teacher in any school system TODAY and these 'mentally incapacitated' kids that are forced into my class room yearly start acting like this and/or worse, I WOULD NEED MORE HELP than what the school system supplies me. So I would have called the police. If that kid wanted to ACT like that, then he is old enough to be treated like a 'nut case' he's acting like. To plop down on the floor and refuse to get up, IS NOT NORMAL. The pic of this kid showed, shows he was not some little toddler or infant, but sorry dad and the media, again, is trying to portray him as one.

Maybe next time he will get up when told.
