It seems to me that JSO is getting beyond trigger happy and no one is holding them accountable for their unlawful actions. I believe that is what happens when you give any group of people too much power with NO ONE to keep them in check. 15 shots????? In a neighborhood? That is not only WRONG it is absolutly ridiculous. I'm so sorry to the family who lost their beloved pet over stupidity.

ethrit be a dog, child, cat, or an innocent person, it seems as though JSO can do whatever they please, because A- We have elected a sheriff that can have ANY shooting justified by the Fed Gov., and B- People seem to let forget a lot of things around election time, C- The people attempting to take JSO or the City to court, don't want to be tied up in litigation for years and years. Granted, we ALL have the right to place a lawsuit against the CIty or JSO, but again as so many of you have said on here, blame our sheriff....God Bless the family, pets are part of our families too....Shame on JSO for using the pet as target practice!

Everyone needs to know all of the facts before they start placing blame on anyone The media does not always reveal all of the facts and what actually happened. I am sure JSO made an attempt to communicate with the people in the house to verify that everyone inside was OK. I am sure this situation could have been avoided if the occupants in the house had responded to JSO. How did they know it was not a hostage situation? Secondly, JSO Officers are required to have a Bachelors Degrees or Military training. They are put through a very intense academy so they are very well trained. Everyone would be singing a different tune if JSO had not gone to check on the home owner. If they didn't check because of a beware of dog sign and she was in need of medical attention and died that would be JSOs fault too I guess. Is there an option here that JSO had that would have satisfied you people? As far as 15 shots goes that's only 7.5 per officer, shooting at a fast moving dog while they themselves are trying to avoid being attacked. Oh, in the dark too. They weren't at a gun range shooting at still paper targets under bright lighting. Just because the dogs owner says the officers did this or that doesn't make it true, she wasn't even at the house when it happened. I love how the media films random holes in the house and screen that clearly aren't from bullets and have clearly been there for a long time. They also film a collar and chain... that the dog was NOT on when it got shot.

Put yourself in the shoes of a JSO officer. If you're responding to a call and get charged by a big dog, you protect yourself by any means possible. That's life!

Approx. Three weeks ago the GreenCoveSprings City Police Dept. shot my daughters dog with my daughter standing less than 5 feet of the dog and she was 9 months pregnant with her baby at that time. And Her husband was mowing the grass In the back yard and was also in the line of fire. They shot the one dog five times and then started to shot at her other dog that had just came out of the George but they both missed hem. She wants to take them to court and she is seeking an Atty.Now. The cops seem to be getting totally out of control.I think something should done about it. If there is any attorney out there that would like to take this on You can reach us at Elvistlc@att.net

The viewer “just thinking” was probably right about the cops running and shooting over their shoulders... YOU DON’T RUN AND SHOT OVER YOUR SHOULDER! 15 stray bullets ! What if they hit a another child or civilian ? I guess they would cover that up too . I’m talking about proper training. There are probably only a few on the force that have had military training . Everyone else worked at Wal-Mart .

yes it was very awful that jso had to shot 15 times and 6 times in the dog and 2 of them were in the head and besides the point my mother that has ms and is handicap and also my son was in there could have gotten shot, and on top of that after they shot and killed my dog none of the officers even bother to check inside my mothers house for safety the could have also pepper sprayed the dog,but the proper way it should have been done is that they should have called inside to asked some one to put my dog up first that is proper way to do it, and all i got was from them is im sorry mamae that's not cutting it!

the dog was in her own gated yard and was protected her home as any dog would, and this is besides the point my mother that is handicap with ms was in the home at the time with my son so the issue is not only on the death of the dog my family could have lost there life to!
