JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Sunday morning shooting at the Fat Kat Lounge leaves one person dead and four others injured. One of the four people injured is in life-threatening condition.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said it happened at 3:59 a.m. Patrol officers working off-duty outside of the club reported shots were fired inside.
According to Public Information Officer Shannon Hartley, four people including the person who died were transported to the hospital in private vehicles.
"Multiple units around the city responded due to there being over 200 individuals leaving the club and they secured the scene," said Hartley.
According to one business owner nearby, Saturday nights is teen night at Fat Kat Lounge.
Action News spoke to a man who claims to work at the club, he did not want to identify himself but he said he was inside when someone started shooting.
"They had an argument then they started shooting. I was sitting down not too far from the dude that was shooting the gun and we took off out the back door," said the witness.
Detectives were back at the nightclub Sunday night. The JSO has not released the names of the person who died or the people who were injured.
