JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- As crowds formed around the crime scene, Anjela Turner hung back with tears in her eyes.
"Nobody deserves to go like that," she said.
About 6:15 p.m Wednesday, police say a group of people were hanging out on 26thS treet and Haines Street when a car pulled up and people stepped out armed.
"Shots rang out. They got back in that vehicle and fled," said Sgt. T.K. Waters with JSO Homicide.
When police arrived they found a man in his mid-20's dead in the middle of the road.
Turner tells Action News it was her cousin Antonyo Harold, a local father of three.
"He was always a loving father. He always gave and helped whenever he could," she said.
The suspect, or suspects, remain on the loose. Police have not released any information about the car involved.
"If anybody knows who did this please please please let our family know," said Turner.
Police were out in the neighborhood until late Wednesday night interviewing witnesses.
