JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man convicted of aggravated manslaughter in his son's death is going to prison.

A judge sentenced Robert Jerrell to eight years behind bars, followed by eight years of probation.

Authorities said he left his 9-month-old son unsupervised in a bathtub in May 2012. The baby drowned. He faced up to life in prison as a habitual offender.

Habitual Offender??? What the heck else did he do? Was this on purpose or was it truly an accident? If it was an accident I dont know if a million years in prison would be more punishment that the actual loss of your child. God Speed little one, I know you are in a peaceful place now! This dudes soul is already judged, theres nothing we can do to change were he is eventually going(I dont know where that is, only he and God do for sure!). Sad story though, nothing worse than seeing a little innocent life have any harm come to it.
