FedEx to bring jobs with new distribution center at Cecil
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Distribution giant FedEx plans to build a new facility and bring jobs to Jacksonville.
FedEx worked out a deal with the City of Jacksonville to put up a 300,000-square-foot building at Cecil Commerce Center Business Park. It is expected to be complete in the summer of 2015.
"This expansion of operations shows the confidence FedEx Ground has in Jacksonville as a strategic hub for transportation and logistics," said Mayor Alvin Brown. "We are excited about the new jobs this operation will generate in Jacksonville. It is important that we continue to focus on targeted industries to facilitate the creation of employment opportunities for our citizens that enhance our standard of living."
