Fernandina Beach man accused of producing child porn
FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. -- A 60-year-old man from Fernandina Beach is facing child pornography charges after authorities say they found at least 12,000 files of graphic material on the man's electronic media.
According to the complaint, John Dewey Todd voluntarily spoke with law enforcement during a search warrant and admitted to collecting child pornography for the past couple years.
During a forensic examination, authorities reportedly found videos Todd adjusting a video camera that appears to be focused on a bathtub, which was used by children.
Authorities say child sexual exploitation and abuse is a growing epidemic in the United States.
If convicted, Todd faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in federal prison.
