JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- We wait...and enjoy a nice Friday as we do. On-and-off rain and scattered storms are in the First Alert Forecast this weekend.

Several area events have already been cancelled due to the impending rain and thunderstorms (*see link).

The First Alert Weather Team is expecting occasional rain, locally heavy, on Saturday and Sunday. The most active period will likely occur from midday Saturday to midday Sunday.

The first round of rain/storms (on Saturday) will be shifting into Georgia Saturday night. We will see several inches of rain in GA.

The next organized round of rain/storms will occur with the cold front on Sunday. Gusty winds, rain, and lightning is expected. Clearing will begin Sunday afternoon.

Expect spring warmth and humidity through most of the weekend.

Next week will be dry, sunny, and a little on the cool side.
