JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded to the 3000 block of University Boulevard Saturday evening to find one person trapped in a second-floor apartment by flames.

Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the fire and rescue the trapped individual.

Because of the quick response, damage was mostly limited to only one apartment.

The injured resident was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to JFRD.

The fire reportedly started on the stove while the man was cooking.
