Fire breaks out in Five Points strip mall

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- A 2-alarm fire broke out early this morning at a strip mall in 5 Points.

According to JFRD, Wasabi Asian Buffet went up in flames about 3:30 a.m. The visible blaze could be seen for blocks. The building was fully engulfed in a matter of 15 minutes.

The structure is gutted and appears to be a complete loss. The Firehouse Subs next door also received damage and took crews a few minutes to douse. Estimated damages are around $1 million.

At this point, the fire is deemed under control.

No cause has been determined.

Margaret and parts of Post Street are shut down until fire officials give the all clear.
