JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A house fire broke out in the Beacon Hills subdivision in Fort Caroline Sunday morning.

According to Jacksonville Fire and Rescue the fire started in the garage.

Two people along with 2 dogs were home at the time but were able to escape without harm.

The smoke plume, from the fire, could be seen for miles according to Action News viewers who called into the newsroom.

Firefighters were not able to give an estimated damage cost but did tell Action News that the garage is a complete loss but most of the house is salvageable.

The State Fire Marshall's Office is now investigating the blaze.
