Firefighters defeat small Southside brush fire

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville Fire & Rescue crews battled a small brush fire Wednesday evening near homes. It happened on Reed Bark Lane in the Old Mill Branch neighborhood. That's off Shiloh Mill Road.

Firefighters tell Action News they were able to quickly surround the fire and put it out before it threatened those homes, or the nearby Crossroads Church. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
