JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- "Sandy" has made its closest approach to Jacksonville and will now steadily move away to the northeast leaving behind plenty of wind but an otherwise decent weekend for metro Jacksonville, Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.  There will be no rain and cloudy skies will gradually give way to some sun today.  North/northwest winds will blow 15-25 mph with gusts to and above 30 mph, especially closer to the coast.  Beach conditions remain very dangerous -- stay out of the ocean!  Sunday will be even nicer with plenty of sun and early morning temperatures in the 50s warming to near 80 degrees in the afternoon.  A stiff northwest breeze will still blow through Sunday evening averaging 15-25 mph with rough seas and surf persisting at area beaches.  Click here to go to the First Alert Hurricane Center.
