JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- First Lady Michelle Obama will visit Naval Station Mayport on Wednesday, August 22, to announce a new hiring initiative for veterans and military families.
The First Lady will take some time to meet with military families before announcing the employment milestone.
Last year, Michelle Obama and Dr. Joe Biden launched "Joining Forces," an initiative to bring recognition to our nation's veterans and military families. Since the launch, 2,100 businesses have stepped up to hire and train veterans and military spouses.
The event will start at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 22nd at Naval Station Mayport.
