PALM COAST, Fla. -- A Flagler County man was arrested Monday, accused of growing marijuana inside a Palm Coast home.
Jorge Rodriguez, 61, of Wheatfield Drive in Palm Coast was charged with cultivating marijuana. He was arrested at his home at 5:30 p.m. Monday. Deputies said Rodriguez gave them a false name. After being fingerprinted, deputies learned his true identity. He remains in jail on $10,000 bond. The federal Immigration Customs Enforcement agency also placed a hold on him.
The investigation began when detectives received an anonymous complaint that the residence was being used to grow marijuana.
Deputies served a search warrant on Monday and discovered two active grow rooms containing a total of 48 plants. These plants have the ability to produce up to 96 pounds of marijuana for sale and distribution each year, yielding a street value of $86,400. Deputies dismantled the grow equipment from the residence and removed the plants.
More charges are pending as the investigation continues.
