PALM COAST, Fla. -- A 20-year-old Flagler County man has died after losing control of his motorcycle and crashing into a mailbox.

It happened at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. Police say Codie Ray Barlow lost control of his motorcycle while going around a curve on Pacific Drive, just north of Parrish Place. They say Barlow then crashed into a mailbox and was thrown from the motorcycle and landed in a nearby yard.

Barlow was not wearing a helmet.

Police say a neighbor heard the crash at 3:30 a.m. and saw the damage to the mailbox. At 7:30 a.m., that same neighbor came out of her house to check the damage to the mailbox and found the victim deceased.

Right now police are unsure if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
