Flash flood WATCH through Saturday
JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- ** A First Alert Weather Day ** through this evening. Bands of heavy rain and storms will move north/northeast across Jacksonville and virtually all of Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. Rainfall rates of 1-2" per hour will make for a slow afternoon commute with ponding of water on area highways. With the ground saturated from recent rainfall, localized flooding will be possible. Storms will also produce frequent lightning and gusty winds with a storm or two that could cause tree and power line damage.
The wet weather pattern will continue into Saturday before easing some Sunday. Tune in CBS47 and Fox30 for weather updates. Send First Alert weather photos or video ** here **. Click ** here ** to download the free First Alert Weather iPad App.
