Flight attendant indicted, accused of trying to smuggle heroin at OIA
ORLANDO, Fla. (WFTV) — A former Jet Blue flight attendant, who is accused of trying to smuggle heroin into the U.S., could face life in prison.
Karla Alvarado of Kissimmeewas indicted by a grand jury Thursday.
Authorities said Alvarado was caught by customs officers at Orlando International Airport last month, hiding heroin underneath her uniform.
Alvarado said she was being paid $10,000 to transport the drugs from Colombia to central Florida.
