JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- The embattled former president of Florida State College of Jacksonville wants more money from taxpayers. The schools Board of Trustees terminated Dr. Steve Wallace’s exit contract after Florida’s Inspector General accused him of violating ethics laws.

In a letter obtained by Action News, an attorney for Wallace is demanding more than $500,000 dollars in back pay, benefits, sick leave, vacation time and comp time.

Wallace contends he was not given due process when his contract was terminated in an unscheduled move by the board back in August.

Wallace cashed $336,000 in unused vacation time when he left. His use of comp time over his 15 year tenure is now the focus of an investigation by State Attorney Angela Corey.
