JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Game day traffic is heavy in some spots and smooth in others as Jaguars fans make their way to EverBank Field.

The Mathews Bridge is out of commission indefinitely. A Navy ship ran into it Thursday afternoon.

An Action News photographer said it took him 20 minutes to go one block on University Boulevard en route to the Hart Expressway. Another said traffic around the stadium is running just fine.

Game day organizers asked fans to start their trek a little earlier than usual because of the traffic shifts and expected congestion on bridges like the Hart, Main Street and Acosta.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said on its Twitter page that there will be signs posted throughout downtown to help fans navigate all the detours.
