JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A former JSO corrections officer is facing charges related to child pornography.

Leon Perry Brooks Sr., 39, is facing two counts of receipt of child pornography, one count of distribution of child pornography, and one count of possession of child pornography.

The indictment (attached) shows the reported offenses took place between June 19, 2012, and May 20, 2013, and involve a number of computer files showing minors engaged in sexually-explicit conduct.

Brooks' next court date is Dec. 27 at 3:30 p.m.

JSO informed Action News shortly before 3 p.m. that Brooks was employed with the agency from April 20, 2000, until his resignation on Nov. 1, 2013.  Brooks resigned, according to JSO, with an undisclosed medical disability.

He is the second JSO corrections officer to be arrested this week.  Prosecutors indicted Harold Walbey III a week ago for tax fraud. Investigators say he took seven names to file tax returns for 2010 and 2011.  Walbey also faces wire fraud and aggravated identity theft charges.

Just because he has child porn on his computer does not make him guilty. Must prove he viewed it and distributed it. If he is guilty should serve a long sentence. Don't rush to convict him till more facts come out and evidence.

So this POS resigned with a medical disability…Does that mean that "we the people" are going to be paying for his "disability". I guess we'll be paying for him either way….On the cell block, or on disability…We, the law abiding taxpayers are forced to support these POS's regardless!!!

KILL HIM IMMEDIATELY! Anyone harming a child = IMMEDIATE DEATH... the more slow and painful the better. You have to be evil to be involved with this kind of stuff and no when it comes to kids(specially being a freakin cop! Kids LOOK UP TO grown ups and SPECIFICALLY COPS!). The end.
