he was a junkie when he played football. the reason he quit suddenly was he was going to fail a drug test. he is just another junkie in this world. he should of gotten 20 year's. serve's him right. if he was a good guy he would of led a better life and made better decision's. but what can you expect out of a felon and junkie?

Realchange did you see the part about Mr. Smith being a "convicted fellon" as such he lost his right to carry or own a firearm. Simple truth is there is no way Mr. Smith could get a permit for the gun and no way he could get a license for a concealed weapon, he made a stupid mistake and now it is time for him to pay the price. He's just another thug, who thought he was above the law.

Wonder if he been as pretty as some the other super stars if he would got as much time. Like Lohan, Michael Jackson and few others come to mind. Those of you say he should not have gun do get real one football player recently lost everything from a shooting in Jax no less. Lost a leg and paralyzed to boot. The problem is he should got a permit for the gun, and the concealed carry class. Then his only problem would been the illegal substence, and he would got probation for a drug problem not jail time most likely. I would also suspect he had very bad attorney getting that much time for such things. Yes they are bad but not un-warranted. Most so called celebs lead double life of drug addiction. We just turn the other way about it unless they get caught.

Really a shame. I don't think Jimmy is a bad guy, I think he's just his own worst enemy. I hope he gets the help that he needs.
