Former Marion corrections officer resigns, won't face battery charges
MARION COUNTY, Fla. (WFTV) -- A former Marion County corrections officer will not face charges for slamming a suspect's head into a wall.
Last year, a surveillance camera caught Charles Broaderick slamming a handcuffed suspect into a wall and knocking him unconscious.
In exchange for having charges of battery dropped, Broaderick agreed to surrender his law enforcement certificate. He also resigned from the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
