GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Former University of Florida quarterback, Doug Johnson, faces two counts of felony battery for allegedly hitting a man after a 2012 football game.

In October 2012, the Gainesville Police Department filed a complaint with the State Attorney's Office against Doug Johnson after he was connected to a fight that left a man in the hospital with numerous injuries to the face.

Joe Cappelletti told police that he was attacked by Johnson after the LSU vs. UF football game.  At the time, police were unable to name a suspect, but their investigation led them to Johnson.

According to the State Attorney's Office District Eight, they are currently reviewing the complaint. Although no charges have been filed, the former UF quarterback faces two counts of felony battery.

Johnson has hired Gainesville attorney, Michael Finesilver, to represent him in this case.

On January 7, Finesilver filed a pre-charge notice that his client will plead not guilty and he has requested a jury trial.

What would realy be nice, is to have the lawyer represetning you serve part of your jail time if he fails to clear you.You would at least be getting something for your money.
