Former officer indicted for spying on girl with pinhole camera
BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- There is scandal inside the Brunswick Police Department after one of its own was indicted on charges he was spying on a little girl.
Brunswick police tell Action News that Kirk Murdock resigned shortly after the investigation began.
Glynn County Police Chief Matt Doering said his department got a call about Murdock back in July. He called in the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to help.
According to the indictment, Officer Murdock secretly planted a pinhole camera in the bedroom of a girl under the age of 18 and watched her, at least once, between the months of March and July.
A bench warrant is being issued for officer Murdock's arrest. He'll be charged with invasion of privacy and cruelty to children.
In an effort to protect the victim's identity, Action News is not releasing her name or how she may have known the suspect.
