LAKE CITY, Fla. -- The Columbia County Sheriff's Office has arrested four people after finding a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory.
Police say two deputies were patrolling a neighborhood Sunday at 8:50 p.m. when they noticed a suspicious vehicle parked at home on 317 NE Double Run Road. While the Deputies were investigating the vehicle, they say they smelled a chemical odor consistent with the illegal manufacture of methamphetamine.
Deputies then questioned two people in the yard and two others inside the trailer. Once inside the trailer, they found materials consistent with the manufacture of methamphetamine. Deputies also found other paraphernalia in a burn pit on the property.
As Deputies searched the property for evidence, a man was found hiding under a trailer. Deputies say the man, Christopher Abbot, had a fugitive arrest warrant from Pennsylvania. He was arrested without incident.
Three other people were arrested in connection with the suspected meth lab. 28-year-old Dustin A. Doles and 44-year-old Wendy Parker were arrested on Possession of Controlled Substance, Manufacture of Methamphetamine, Possession of Listed Chemicals and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
36-year-old James Roberts was arrested on charges of Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine. All three suspects are being held on a $56,000 bond.
No bond is set for Abbot.
