Free Christmas tree recycling

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A local company is offering free Christmas tree recycling for people living in apartments and condo complexes. If you live at a home with curbside pick-up, you can put your tree on the curb as you would with normal yard waste. You have to take the lights and ornaments off the tree before it can be hauled away.

Advanced Disposal’s Old Kings Road Landfill will accept Christmas trees for recycling from apartment and condominium residents free of charge through Saturday, January 12. A designated roll-off container will be located behind the scale house for easy drop off.

The Old Kings Road Landfill is located at 8540 Old Kings Rd. North in Jacksonville

Their hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. – noon.
