Free severe weather text alerts in Bradford County

BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. -- The Bradford County Emergency Management is now offering free severe weather text alerts to the community.

The BCEM is rolling out their newest phase of emergency notification by encouraging residents to sign up to receive emergency information as a SMS text message or as an email sent directly to their phone or email.

This service is provided free of charge and is open to anyone.  The alerts will be sent to cities in the county only including: Starke, Hampton, Lawtey and Brooker.

To sign up for the emergency alerts, go to www.bradfordcountyfl.gov and click on the Emergency Information link. You can also connect to the sign up through the Bradford County facebook page at www.facebook.com/bradfordemergency.

You can also sign up for weather alerts at www.actionnewsjax.com, just click the mobile link in the top right corner.
