JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- The first widespread freeze of the winter will occur tonight with temperatures dropping below freezing for more than 6 hours near and west of Highway 301...4-6 hours near I-95 and staying a bit above freezing down wind of the St. Johns River and near the intracoastal and beaches. Saturday will be another chilly day with breezy northwest winds but at least sunny skies. Afternoon highs will only top out in the 50s. There will be another widespread freeze but also with a heavy frost Saturday night-early Sunday.
