GBI: Brunswick narcotic never seen before
BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- Authorities in Georgia say the herbal incense or spice that sent dozens to the hospital is an illegal narcotic never seen before.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation analyzed the herbal incense labeled "Crazy Clown." The analysis showed the presence of as a new synthetic cannabinoid called ADB-PINACA.
The GBI says it’s the first known instance of this cannabinoid in the U.S.
The ADB-PINACA compound is categorized as a Schedule 1 substance.
Earlier this week, a narcotics task force arrested four people in connection with making and distributing the narcotic.
