GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- A student at UF is now facing charges of filing a false police report after recanting her claim of an attempted kidnapping and aggravated assault.

Tanya Borachi, 22, first told police that a man attacked her at gunpoint inside her home on April 23. She told police a man tied her hands and mouth with a torn t-shirt.

A week later, detectives interviewed Borachi again and she admitted the attack never happened and that she made up the story as a lesson to women in the area that an attack could happen to them.

The Gainesville Police Department is sending a report to the State Attorney's Office to have a charge of Filing a False Police Report filed against Borachi. She would face up to a year in jail and up to $1000 in fines.

Police may also ask Borachi to repay the cost of the investigation.

Sounds like another lie to make up an excuse for the first lie.
