Gainesville charter school forced to shut down
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Sweetwater Branch Academy was forced to close its doors after receiving three consecutive failing grades from the state, according to Alachua County Public Schools.
The Board of Education granted permission for the school to remain open last year after receiving an F score.
The school's website states its goal was to provide a high quality education to students in Alachua County.
Students who attended the academy must either with register other schools or find another form of state-approved education.
Most students in Alachua County go back to school on Monday.
