Gainesville man indicted in pregnant woman's murder
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Alvin Thomas, 32, has been indicted for the November murder of Caitlin Albritton in her northeast Gainesville residence, court records show.
Investigators say Thomas shot and killed his pregnant ex-girlfriend at the Village Green apartment complex and fled to a nearby hotel before being arrested.
Thomas was charged first degree premeditated murder, burglary, and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. He was denied bond by an Alachua County judge.
Authorities have not released a motive for the incident.
Thomas is awaiting his next court appearance in the Alachua County Jail.
