Gainesville woman dead after Bradford County car crash

STARKE, Fla. -- A Gainesville woman is dead and two other people are in serious condition after a car crash Monday afternoon in Bradford County.

Police say Phillip R. Berryhill, 77, of Keystone Heights, was driving a 1998 Ford F-150 westbound on State Road 100 approaching Southeast 109th Street. Mary B. Donn, 52, of Gainesville, was driving eastbound on SR 100 approaching the same street. Berryhill turned left into the path of Donn's 2001 Plymouth Neon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol report.

The report says Donn's Neon struck the front of Berryhill's truck and the truck ended up southbound in the eastbound lane. The Neon ended up in the eastbound shoulder. Donn was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the report, she was not wearing a seat belt.

Her passenger, Karen MacCaister, 50, of Florahome was taken to Shands at the University of Florida in serious condition.

Berryhill was taken to Shands in Starke.

FHP says charges are pending.
