Gainesville's mayor could escape DUI charges
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Gainesville's mayor may avoid DUI charges after his arrest in late March.
Craig Lowe has agreed to undergo DUI prevention program according to the State Attorney's office. If he completes it, the charges would be dropped.
Lowe was stopped by deputies in Alachua County when his car hit a sign and ended up in a ditch. He will lose his license for 14 days as a part of the agreement
