JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A gale warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent.  In our current situation, these wind speeds will be acheived in frequent gusts. Othwerwise, winds will be in the 20-25 mph range.  Regardless, these marine conditions can be dangerous even to experienced mariners.  Boating is discouraged.

There's also a high surf advisory in effect through Tuesday night. Seas/waves will top out in the 6-10 foot range!  Along with that, there's a high risk of rip currents.  So you should mark swimming off of your activity list as well.

Additionally, a lake wind advisory in effect through Tuesday evening.

Some moisture will be pulled into the "picture" by these strong onshore winds, so expect some occasional showers on the breeze. The rain may be brief but also heavy.

These gusty winds will ease Wednesday/Thursday prior to our next front.
