JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Friday Night Blitz spirit at Harvest Community School is about as big as the snow cones served on the sidelines.

What a night it was at Greenland Park as Harvest Community took on Eagle's View, the Friday Night Blitz Game of the week by a long shot.

The school clocked in more than 37,000 votes to claim the title in Week 3 of Friday Night Blitz football.

Principal Rae Bellingrath told Action News she bent school rules for a week by allowing students to use their cellphones to vote.

And they voted. The student body took over first place earlier this week after trailing the Brain Bowl of Paxon and Stanton when the polls opened last Friday night.

"Our family was voting, on the phone or on the laptop, we were just voting, voting, voting," said one student.

Lonnie Martz and his team led by 28 points at halftime but the stands remained packed with a raucous crowd, decked out in the school colors.

Everyone was having a good time.

The Action News Sports intern opened a bag of Subway shirts, and a battalion of little ones helped to throw them to into the seats.

Steve hovered like a king over a smoking grill, sizzling with hamburgers.

Rick had one of the best seats in the house.  He's the play-by-play dude.  He spent 14 years calling games at Bolles before crossing over to Harvest Community School.

He said, "It's been awesome, a great joy."

Likewise, from the Friday Night Blitz team.
