JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The smell of gas forced the evacuations of several businesses on the Westside on Monday.

Employees at a Panda Express reported smelling gas outside and called 9-1-1.

Emergency crews responded. The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department told Action News that the smell was  not from a gas lea, but from the sewer.

The Panda Express, a Movie Stop, Sprint store and a Firehouse Subs were evacuated, but customers and employees were allowed back in just before 7 p.m.
