JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Score one for Jacksonville as another Gator Bowl goes down in the books.

Fans from all over the country filled EverBank Field to see Georgia and Nebraska battle it out.

Georgia fan Emily Campbell said, "I just love the spirit. The pride we have in Georgia football.  Nice to see the Nebraska fans here too."

The fans stayed at local hotels. They ate at local restaurants and spent a pretty penny to party.

Nebraska fan Katherine Batenhorst said, "It's just so much fun. A lot of people out here. The fans are so nice."

Here's how the Gator Bowl Association breaks down the numbers:

The game usually brings in 30,000-35,000 out-of-town fans.

They stay an average of two to three nights.

That translates to $14 to $16 million in direct local spending, and $30 million regionally.

Fans say it's worth every penny.  The memories they take home are priceless.

Georgia fan Steve Rogers said he just loves the festivities and "hanging out with my friends. We don't get together that often.  And whenever Georgia plays, we try to have a great time together."
