DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. -- A Student caught on fire during a demonstration at a Douglas County high school Thursday night.

School resource officer Keith Wood, a deputy with the sheriff’s office, said the accident occurred at Chapel Hill High School during an Advanced Placement class demonstration.

Wood said a teacher pushed the student to the ground, but was unsuccessful in putting out the fire. Maj. Tommy Wheeler’s son, Will Wheeler, grabbed a fire blanket and was able to quickly extinguish the fire.
