Gov. Scott is looking into changing the FCAT

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- On Friday, Governor Rick Scott said schools might be doing too much testing and he is currently in talks with education officials about possibly changing the FCAT.

I am not sure why there is no mention of the Common Core State Standards in this article. The assessment for those, currently being developed by the PARCC group, will replace the FCAT in the 2014-2015 school year. Spending time, resources, and money on changes to FCAT seems rather pointless.

One of the problems with End of Course testing is that they are tested on material that they are not taught in class, then they fail a class they passed all year because of this test that consisted of material they were never taught. So pointless!
