JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- Scattered showers tonight will increase Tuesday as a cold front approaches.  Tuesday will begin with widely scattered showers but rain will increase through the day with a few thunderstorms at times.  All areas should see at least some rain with rainfall averaging a third of an inch to an inch but locally 1-2".
The front will sweep through the area by early Wednesday and will be followed by clearing skies, gusty northwest winds and much cooler temperatures.  Highs by late week will only be in the low to mid 70s with nighttime temperatures dipping into the 40s at night.
