PALATKA, Fla. -- Seven juvenile suspects were arrested for stealing thousands of dollars worth of equipment from Dipsticks ATV off of State Road 19 in Palatka, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

The burglary reportedly happened on Tuesday when the business was closed.

The PCSO reports that the burglars stole a Toshiba laptop computer, three all-terrain vehicles and two dirt bikes.

Deputies say they were able to track down the suspects through the use of video surveillance.

Sheriff Jeff Hardy stated, "Crimes of this nature are unacceptable in Putnam County. The youth involved are now facing serious felony charges."

All of the suspects have been turned over to the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice for further proceedings.
Most of the stolen items have been recovered.

Anyone with additional information regarding this case or any other criminal activity is encouraged to contact the Sheriff's Office at 389-329-0800 or CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-888-277-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.

Gee, summer break just started and these kids are in trouble already. There must be a way to have whomever is responsible for them take a "hit" for them. Okay, we know people HAVE to work, have other children, list of excuses goes on, but someone has to take the responsibility for underage kids. It appears it is going to be a summer of records/statistics for juvenile delinquents.

Nice to see a crime reported in Palatka that does not involve meth or oxycontin. On the other hand to be that stupid drugs are probably involved.
