Guns in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- There have been seven shootings in Jacksonville in just three weeks. Six of them were deadly. And this comes at a time, when gun sales and permitting is at an all time high.

As usual, the media is asking the wrong questions. Instead of asking if there are too many guns on the street, perhaps they should be asking if there are too many repeat criminals being put back on the street by our justice system. I am glad to hear the one respondent say that the guns are no more than an inanimate object used illegally by criminals. If you really want to persue something that contributes to a large number of deaths, take a look at drugs, alcohol, and doctors. All of those contribute to the deaths of more innocent people every year than guns do.
