Hank Aaron undergoes surgery after falling on ice
ATLANTA, Ga. — Baseball Hall of Famer Hank Aaron is recovering after he fell on some ice Friday night, according to an announcement made on the Atlanta Braves’ official Twitter account.
Aaron underwent successful partial left hip surgery on Friday night. .He is expected to make a full recovery within six to eight weeks, the announcement said.
The sports legend retired after a 23-year career with Milwaukee and the Atlanta Braves.
Aaron broke Babe Ruth's home run record on April 8, 1974, at old Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. He finished his career with 755 homers.
Aaron celebrated his 80th birthday on Feb. 5.
