JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- Narrow but heavy bands of rain will move inland off the Atlantic into this evening. Wet highways will cause a slow afternoon commute in some spots. Individual showers are moving swiftly west at 20-25 mph but where rain bands set up from the ocean with cells repeating over the same area, localized rainfall of 1-2" will be possible though most areas will see far less and -- some places -- nothing at all. Gusty onshore east winds will continue producing a high rip current risk at area beaches. Occasional showers will move west from the Atlantic through Thursday evening before decreasing some by Friday. Click
