JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- Very heavy rain and storms will affect the afternoon and early evening commute.  Thunderstorms will be very slow moving with rainfall rates of 1-2 inches per hour.  Slow down if you have travel plans as there will be ponding of water on highways and localized short term flooding.  The weather pattern remains virtually unchanged through the weekend with partly cloudy skies, very warm temperatures and high humidity leading to scattered late morning through afternoon heavy showers and storms.  Initial storm development will have a tendency to be closer to the coast then transition more inland through the afternoon.  But there will still be plenty of dry hours over the weekend with sunburn times as low as 10-15 minutes before storms develop. Highs will reach the mid 80s to low 90s.  Click ** here ** to download the FREE First Alert Weather iPad App...send First Alert weather photos and videos ** here **.
