High humidity and afternoon thunderstorms
JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- Hot, humid weather this week will lead to scattered afternoon thunderstorms that will increase each day. Storms will be slow moving and produce a period of very heavy rain and frequent lightning. An upper level disturbance that was "Isaac" will move into the Southeast U.S. the next few days and could enhance rain and storms. Speaking of the tropics..."Leslie" is far to the east of Florida but will be large enough and strong enough to send an easterly swell to our local beaches resulting in an enhanced rip current risk. Otherwise....temperatures will continue to be hot with highs 90-95 inland and 85-90 at the beaches.
