Holiday travel on I-95 slowed due to produce spill
NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. -- Motorists along Interstate 95 Saturday found themselves in a backup that lasted for hours near the Duval-Nassau County border in the southbound lanes.
Troopers tell Action News that a tractor-trailer carrying fresh produce was cut off by a dark colored sedan just before 6 a.m., just north of the Pecan Park Road exit.
The crash report states 39-year-old Jeffery Swett lost control of his big rig during the incident, hit the guard rail and eventually overturned.
At this point, the Florida Highway Patrol does not know who the driver of the other car was and states no one was charged in the incident.
The South Carolina truck driver did not receive any injures in the crash, according to FHP.
Cleanup is expected to take several hours.
