St. Simons Island, Ga. – A woman walked into her home to find an unknown man who she says was waiting to sexually assault her early Saturday morning.
Glynn County police went to her home at 1000 Mallery St., Mallery Villas, just before 4 a.m.
She told police she didn’t know who the man was, but that they struggled before he fled the apartment on foot.
With the assistance of the Glynn County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect has been identified as Dene Stephens, 29, of St. Simons Island.
Police say warrants have been issued for Stephens' arrest for burglary, aggravated assault with intent to rape and kidnapping.
